Alien Abduction Chamber

chamber

A small storage room becomes a private play space with room just for two. Walk-in closets and laundry rooms make good places for Alien Abduction Chambers. For lighting we use Gemmy Industries Fire and Ice special effect spotlights that project a constantly moving swirl of color.  Silver material covers the walls, ceiling, and padded floor.

This year we changed it up and a walk-in closet became Area 69. This time, instead of capturing us, we have caught an alien. A mat and shiny bedding is on the floor, making this a cozy play area for two.  The back end of the closet was covered with cardboard with silver material over it (the same material that covers everything and hides the clothes). A diamond shaped window was cut out of the cardboard and clear plastic was a attached. We sprayed the fake crystals used to make windows look frozen at Christmas to make it look like the interior was frozen. Using an alien Halloween mask, we created the body of an alien inside the chamber. There was a bigger opening above head height that was square. Inside was a green Fire and Ice light that gave an eerie moving light effect. The whole thing was done for a few dollars. It did not photograph well, but looked great in person.
