My wife and I really enjoy Vegas. We get there at least a couple of times a year. We have written many times about Vegas, including in our annual coverage of the Adult Entertainment Expo in January.
The problem with writing about Las Vegas is that it is incredibly dynamic and things are constantly changing there. Whatever we write about could disappear at any minute. Every time we go so many things are different. Instead of providing a guide of sexy things to do and see, we are going to, in this article, focus on what types of sexy things they have there and how to find them. We’ll also include some tips to make your trip more pleasant.
We especially enjoy Vegas in the fall. It is still warm, 90s in September on average, 80’s on average in October. Unlike in summer, nights do get cool. September is one of the cheapest months to fly to Vegas, and it is less crowded, although weekends are still busy but much less so. Midweek is the best time to avoid the crowds, and hotels rooms are much cheaper.
The Internet is your best friend. To get the most from vegas, you need to do your research. Check Groupon, Vegas4Locals.com, and other discount sites. Read the latest reviews, as many places start out great and then go downhill very rapidly. When you do search, limit the results to at least the last six months. Things change fast in Vegas.
With the implementation of parking fees at so many casinos, you do need to plan very carefully. It is not like you can park at one casino and then walk to the others. They are just too far apart. We do go to a lot of differently casinos, and park on either level 3 or 6 to the right of the parking elevators. Being consistent makes it easier to find your car, as apps that help you find your car don’t always work in these mega-parking structures.
While the last peep show, Showgirls Video, has closed their doors, there are still plenty of world class strip clubs. We have had many good times at the $30 million Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club, a 71,000 square foot facility employing over 400 topless dancers nightly. It has VIP skyboxes, a 400 seat showroom featuring celebrity adult entertainers, private party rooms, three lounges, and a 10,000 square foot main showroom. It is the largest adult club in the world. At 10 pm on Thursday thru Sunday they offer Men of Sapphire, a male review for women.
Any of the specs above can and will change without notice, and there are many more clubs in town. There are around a dozen major clubs and a bunch of smaller ones, although the smaller ones tend to come and go more frequently. There are plenty of sites that review Vegas strip clubs. Just make sure they stay up to date, and check the club’s web site before going. Some are more couple friendly than others. Do your research.
If the history of sex is interesting to you, you will love the Erotic Heritage Museum. We certainly do, and plan to do a full article on them very soon. It is a full blown museum with more than 24,000 square feet of permanent and featured exhibits and artifacts. We really liked Puppetry of the Penis, a live show staged there with actual penises, something rarely seen on stage. Read our full review here.
We have long been nudists, so we really enjoy the topless pools. They are not all the same though. Which pools are topless changes quite regularly. Our current favorite is the one at Caesars Palace. At the time of writing this, there are 10 of them. Some, like the one at the Mirage, are a bit small for our taste. They all tend to be smaller than the family pools, some of which are amazing but also often open only to hotel guests. The one at the Cosmopolitan is a big, very loud, very crowded party catering more towards 20 somethings. The strip club Sapphire has a topless pool but it seems to cater more towards single guys. Sometimes they will let you, if you are a couple, check out the topless pools ahead of time. Do the research to find what is best for you.
We are also fond of swing clubs. We never seem to have time to make it to any of the Vegas clubs, at least not in many years. The Red Rooster has been there forever, but like a number of other clubs, it is open to singles, and we just don’t generally go to clubs open to singles. Amazingly, you can Yelp swing clubs. While we have not been to the One Love Las Vegas club, we do plan to get there. It is from the same people who are behind the Sea Mountain Inn in Palm Springs. We got to know the owners years ago and it is a first class operation, so hopefully One Love is just as good. What I have heard so far is good but they have not been around that long.
Any city that has a lot of strip clubs will have a lot of stores selling sexy attire, and Vegas is no exception. They have a lot of them, and Vegas has traditionally had a lot of very good ones. They have everything from high end lingerie such as Agent Provocateur to attire to cater to strippers and those interested in sexy club wear. Try searches for stripper wear, lingerie, and sexy club wear. Many of these places come and go, so call first or check their web site. There are also places that have been around for many years, such as Showgirl Costumes, where you can dress as a showgirl.
Here in L.A. there are plenty of adult toys stores, but if that is not the case for you, check out the many adult stores in Vegas, including Superstores and Hustler Hollywood (they have two). Just Google “adult stores las vegas.” Yes, there are a lot of them.
Many people come to Vegas for the shows, and there are a number of adult topless shows. I’ll only mention a few that have been around for years. Others tend to come and go. The Cirque du Soleil show Zumanity has been around since 2003. A fairly good rundown of the show is available of Wikipedia. X Burlesque has been at the Flamingo for a long time. Fantasy has been at the Luxor for nearly 20 years.
We saw Crazy Girls at the Riviera years ago. The Riviera has since been demolished, but the show goes on in its new home at Planet Hollywood. The famous bronze of bare butts that politicians failed at getting removed from taxicab ads.
There are some great sexy opportunities just for women. There are the Thunder Down Under, Magic Mike and Chippendales male strip shows. Also fun are pole dancing classes. Back when we had a physical location where we taught classes, our pole dancing class was on of our most popular classes. Check out Stripper 101 and Pole Fitness Studio.
