Free ebook: CenterSEE Guide to Adult Toys
SenseMax is a relatively new company with a focus on virtual reality experiences. While the SenseMax SenseVibe Warm does not have VR applications, it has some nice design elements, especially if you travel with your vibes.
It comes in a plastic case that will keep it clean and also recharge it simply by placing it in the case, assuming the case as been plugged into a powered USB port or charger. The toy itself does not have to be directly plugged into anything. I wish all my toys came in a recharging protective case. I also wish that this case had some type of exterior LED to indicate that the toy inside is charging. The magnetic lock on the case lid could be stronger, but I have thrown this into luggage and had no problem with it opening during travel. If this is a concern, just wrap a rubber band around it.
This is also one of the quieter vibes we have ever tested. Kris was using it next to me and I could hear the clicking of the little switch that changes speed and patters, and that click was easier to hear than the vibe itself. When she had it under the covers I could barely hear the vibration. The first time we tested this was with two girls and there was a lot of laughing and giggling so I did not notice how amazingly quiet it was. That is why we always try to test with different people and different environments.
Toy manufacturers try to minimize the number of buttons on their toys, but often the buttons are doing too many things and that makes using them confusing. This one can be a little confusing confusing. It has three buttons- a circle in the middle and a plus and minus sign on either end. It has a travel lock, great for traveling as it can not be accidentally turned on. Hold down both the plus and minus keys until the center button light turns off. This will also keep the curious from turning it on. To unlock, just do the same thing.
For most toys, a press or long press on the circle turns on the toy. Not so here. A long press actually turns on the heating element (more on that later). The plus button turns on the toy, and subsequent presses increase the vibration intensity. The minus button decreases the intensity. To turn it off, hold down the minus button. It will ramp down the intensity and switch off.
I really like the ability to hold down the button to ramp up or down the intensity. While repeated button presses will take it up or down a click at a time, the smooth rampimg up when holding the plus sign down eliminates the need for the endless repeating button clicks. This feature is a real plus (and technically a minus since it works for both buttons). They claim 18 speeds, but above 12 I could not tell any difference.
The circle button does nothing but flash when you quickly press it. It has a secondary function beyond turning on the heat with a long press, but this function will not work unless the vibrator has already been turned on with the plus button. Once the vibe is buzzing, the circle button lets you cycle through the eight patterns.
Because this toy has two vibrators, one for clitoral stimulation and one for G-Spot stimulation, they are able to do some interesting things with the patterns that switch back and forth between the two motors. There are also some shuddery patterns that are interesting. I do wish you could turn off patterns with a long hold on the circle, but since that is dedicated to turning on the heater, you have to cycle all the way through.
All dual vibes intended for simultaneous G-Spot and clitoral stimulation have the same issue- women’s bodies vary a lot. Making a vibe that will hit right on the clit and the G-Spot for all women is a bit of a challenge, and we have yet to test a vibe that met that challenge. In general, though, if you have luck with Rabbit vibes, this should probably work for you. The neck angles around 36 degrees, so there is some wiggle room. This will work for most women, but not all. Even so, having one vibe that can be used for both types of stimulation is still a good thing, even if it is not simultaneous.
We generally like toys that warm up. We have had times where toys were unpleasantly cool before use. This toy already warms up in the charger. When we removed it, it was around 90 degrees just from the waste heat of charging. It is in warming mode when the red light on the center round button stays on. Using my trusty infrared thermometer, five minutes later it was still around the same temperature, which is comfortably warm. This is not close to the advertised specs, and yes, we tested on a full charge. Still, testers found it a comfortable and pleasant temperature, and thought too much higher might be uncomfortable.
After ten minutes the temp stabilized to around 88 degrees. While technically below body temperature, skin temp is much lower than internal body temp. It will feel warm against external skin and feel comfortable internally, although not especially warm (but it sure will not feel cold).
It has a very long standby day, claimed to be up to 100 days. We tested the vibe by cooling it to 68 degrees, which felt cold to the touch, and is a reasonable temperature for a toy to get in a cool house. We turned the heater on, and it took just four minutes to get up to 88 degrees. It is not uniformly warm, and the clitoral stimulator does not warm at all. The insertable part had areas as high as 94 degrees after ten minutes.
The instructions are printed on the box. Since it comes in a case you’ll probably want to throw away the box. They really need a separate sheet of instructions or at least have them on their web site.
Overall, testers really liked this toy a lot. They liked how quiet it was, but most especially they liked the sensations it produced. It can be used for a lot of different types of stimulation, can be used just as a clitoral vibe, just as a G-Spot vibe, and you can combine the two in a lot of interesting ways.
