Porn is broken down into a lot of different categories, and one of the most rapidly growing categories is the world of Alt Porn, which features tattooed, punk, gothic, and emo girls. The Alt Porn Awards recognize this niche, and are put on by the Alt Porn site, a news site about Alt Porn.
We were unable to make it to the show this year, which is why we do not have a lot of fabulous pictures. Hopefully next year. We’ll still fill you in on the winners and include links to find pics and more info.
It was not much of a surprise that the winner of Best Membership Site – Multigirl/Community went to Burning Angel. The pioneering Joanna Angel and Burning Angel get a lot of credit for mainstreaming Alt Porn
The Best Membership Site – Solo went to Ari Dee. Her site bills her as the Pinup Comic Loving Nerd. I used to do comedy, but those are not the comics she loves, sadly. She is also into Cosplay. On the personal side, she is a strong advocate for the rights of sex workers and a strong opponent of racism. My kind of girl.
The Best Clip Site (for Alt Talent) was MFCShare, a part of MyFreeCams (sponsor of the awards). It is a free photo & video host for the MyFreeCams community.
Best Modern Burlesque went to Jenevieve Hexxx of whom I am a fan and who was well deserving for her talent and diversity. We have written about her several times. Just copy her name into our search box to read what we have written about her.
Best Female Performer of the Year went to 23 year old Charlotte Sartre. You can follow her on Twitter and Instagram. She seems to be strong-willed with a great sense of humor and based on her name, perhaps a bit philosophical. This uninhibited goth girl seems like someone you’d enjoy hanging out with.
The Fan Favorite Female Performer of the Year was Leigh Raven. The #metoo movement came to the adult industry with the banning of Ron Jeremy from this year’s Adult Entertainment Expo. I have been told many stories from performers of Ron’s bad behavior, and have witnessed how pushy he can be. Assault on a porn set is a very complicated issue, and Leigh Raven’s claims about on set assault she experienced are troubling. The Best Male Performer of the Year went to Small Hands, who seems to gobble up more than his fair share of awards. He is married to Joanna Angel, and they are considered the first couple of alt porn. They were literally married by the Grim Reaper. You can follow him on Twitter.
Fan Favorite Male Performer of the Year was Will Havoc. You can follow him on Twitter. He is popular as a crossover star as he is a cis male but does scenes with people who are transgender. One of the things about the alt porn world is that it tends to be very inclusive, which I consider a big plus.
Best Cam Girl of the Year was BabeAriel. This is a very competitive category. You can follow her on Twitter. Of course you can find her on MyFreeCams. You don’t have to watch much of this sexy redhead’s camming work to understand why she is so popular. For me, the best cam girls are those who have extra helpings of personality, and she certainly qualifies there.
