go to page 1 Strip Clubs Part of the pressure to bring back the sexier hotel shows comes from the rapid growth of Gentlemen's Clubs in town that are pulling money away from the big casinos. There are almost as many strip clubs in and around Vegas as there are casinos on the strip. In general, the closer you are to the strip, the more likely the club is to be topless, and the further away, you have better chances of full nudity. If fully nude, expect to forgo the alcohol. There are many guides and review sites to the strip clubs of Vegas. Vegas.com has a listing of them and a great etiquette guide. Las Vegas Strip Club Review features lots of useful info about clubs, Vegas After Dark offers reader reviews. The newest topless club, in fact it opened during the 2008 Adult Entertainment Expo, is the Penthouse Club, from the folks that bring you Penthouse magazine. It used to be Sin. It is the largest Penthouse club in the world at 46,000 square feet Just off of the strip sits the $30 million Sapphire Gentlemen's Club, a 71,000 square foot facility employing over 6,000 topless dancers. It has 13 private VIP skyboxes, a 400 seat showroom featuring celebrity adult entertainers, private party rooms, three lounges, a 10,000 square foot main showroom, and a large restaurant. It is the largest adult club in the world. At 10 pm on Friday and Saturday they offer Men: The Show, a male review for women. Read about my adventures there in A Night About Nicki. Deja Vu Showgirls is part of the huge chain of clubs, and they offer full nudity, with bed dances and shower dances, an arcade, and live booths. They also have an attached Love Boutique. Spearmint Rhino is also part of a large chain, but is only topless. They have 18,000 square feet, and is noted for its beautiful women. Scores is a Vegas version of the infamous New York club offering 25,000 square feet of topless entertainment. This includes aerial acts, Las Vegas style showgirls, and more that goes beyond just dancing and hustling for lap dances.
The Classics While there has been a recent explosion of clubs, here are a few that have been around a long time. Olympic Garden Cabaret is a topless club that is considered the first modern Vegas strip club. It is also the home of Vegas' first male review, The Men of Olympus, which is held on the second floor. The Palomino Club. This club is the exception to the alcohol rule- it has full nudity and alcohol. It opened in 1969 and has the old Vegas feel. It is at 1848 North Las Vegas Blvd. They do not have a current Web site- now that's old school. It has a storied and surprisingly recent sensational history. In 2000, the owner's son, Jack Perry, shot and killed one of the employees. It was then purchased by a noted cardiologist who hoped that it would help raise money for his research. Apparently, women taking off their clothes to help save people's lives was too scandalous for the medical community, and under pressure, he sold it. The next owner, Luis Hidalgo Jr., was convicted of hiring a hit man to kill two employees. Apparently, it has not been a great place to work for employees. Hopefully things are better now, as it is owned by the previous owner's lawyer, having been sold to him to pay legal fees. You can check out some classic pictures at Vegas Retro.
An owner of the Crazy Horse Too also faced some difficulties- a 10 year long FBI probe that in 2005 cost him his liquor license and led to the closure of the club. It has since reopened under new management. Perhaps you are looking for something a
little seedier. Well, then, Showgirl Video
at 631 S Las Vegas Blvd (702) 385-4554
should fit the bill. It offers New York style booth shows. You go into
a tiny private booth, put money in the slot, and the opaque window becomes
transparent so that you can view the small stage. After a few minutes it
goes opaque again unless you put more money. There is also a slot through
which you can tip the dancers, and if you want any attention, you had better
tip. They offer a full nude show, one girl at a time. There are also webcams streaming the shows live across the Internet. It is owned by adult video company Arrow Productions. Page 1: Introduction
