This year's AVN Awards were hosted by adult star Tera Patrick. The big winners this year were Upload from SexZ Pictures (Best Video, Best Supporting Actress Video, Best Solo Sex Scene, Best Non-Sex Performance, Best Special Effects, Best Screenplay - Video, Best DVD Extras ), Layout from Vivid Entertainment (Best Video, Best Director Film, Best Couples Sex Scene, Best Oral Sex Scene Film, Best Supporting Actress Film), and Fashionistas Safado: Berlin from Evil Angel (Best Director Video, Best Art Direction Video, Best Editing Video, Best Group Sex Scene Video, Best Three-way Sex Scene, Best High-Definition Production). And the award for most controversial awards presentation goes to.... Jenna Jameson. The Crossover Star of the Year award was renamed for Jenna Jameson, who presented it this year to Stormy Daniels. I did not see it, but did hear reports that her presentation was not well received. Jenna made a speech that was, to put it mildly, less than modest. She then stated “"Honesty is key ... and I will never ever ever spread my legs in this industry EVER!" That came across as a bit of a dig to the many women in the audience who continue to do that, and doing that is the reason they were there, and it is also the reason Jameson was there and got famous in the first place. I never really got the whole Jenna Jameson thing. She became the biggest adult star in the world before retiring from performing. But I never found her all that appealing. I thought it was just me, but after this speech, which got boos from the audience, other people are now finding her less appealing as well. I did not attend the awards show, but I heard a lot of grumbling from those who did. The red carpet was disorganized, with people and press who should have been there not able to get through. Many did not like the new venue, and thought the mind numbing 107 awards was way too many.
